You might be perplexed as to why some Discord members are unreachable or invisible to you after you’ve had a conversation with them. Aside from internet issues, you may have been blocked by them at some point. You won’t be able to contact them using that account once it’s been blocked.
You can use one of the numerous methods to determine whether or not you’re blocked. Unfortunately, since the person has chosen not to interact with you, there isn’t much you can do about it. Continue reading to understand more about how this method works.
How to Check if Someone Blocked You on Discord
Sending someone a private message is the simplest way to see if they have blocked you. If you can send them a message, it’s likely that they haven’t blocked you yet, and you can exhale a sigh of relief.
When you view your chat logs with that person, though, you’ll immediately notice that you’ve been blocked. Clyde, the official bot for Discord, will appear and display an error message. He’d say one of the following factors prevented your message from being delivered:
- You don’t share servers with the recipient
- You disabled direct messages on the shared servers you’re both in
- The recipient will only accept messages from friends
Clyde will also include a link to a comprehensive list of reasons why you have been blocked. He won’t, however, tell you why you can’t send a message to the person.
If you were recently speaking with this person and are suddenly unable to send them messages, you were most likely blocked at some point.
Checking your friend’s list is another approach to see if you added the person as a friend. Another indicator that they’ve blocked you is if they’ve vanished from it.
How to Check if Someone Blocked You on Discord Without Messaging Them
There is, thankfully, another way to see if someone has blocked you. You don’t have to type a lengthy message before realizing it was all for naught. Emotes are a type of emoticon that may be used everywhere on Discord, and they’ll come in handy for our little prank.
If you believe you’ve been blocked, try responding to one of their messages on a server you both use. If they haven’t blocked you, the emote will show.
The indicator of a mobile user is more distinct. They’ll receive a notice that says “Reaction Blocked.” You’ll know someone has blocked you at this point.
There’s another way to find out whether someone has blocked you without having to send them a message. It does, however, entail sending them something else. Instead, you’ll send them a friend request this time.
1. Go to the Home menu on Discord and head to the Friends menu.
2. From here, select Add Friend.
3. Type in the person’s Discord username and tag and click Send Friend Request.
4.If you were blocked, it won’t go through.
Another thing to keep an eye out for is that. You can also pull up the person’s profile and select Add Friend from there if you know they share a server with you. This procedure is less time-consuming.
Check if Your Blocked using Discord Message Reactions
- Open up Discord and proceed to a message by the person you suspect of blocking you.
- Now, react to their message and see if it appears, if it does, then you haven’t been blocked by them, tough luck otherwise.
You can’t do anything about it because your current account has no way of contacting the other user. You can create a new Discord account and message them, but you’re out of luck if they don’t allow messages from non-friends.
The next best option is to enlist the assistance of some mutual friends. Mutual friends who haven’t been blocked yet can still contact the other person and assist in the mediation process.
When it comes to barring other users, Discord follows the “no evidence, no alertness” policy. The approach is intended to keep consumers from discovering the information and making a big issue about it. You won’t know if someone has blocked you unless you want to find out.
Discord’s stance of “no attentiveness and no evidence” does not appear to be changing anytime soon. As a result, these methods for determining whether or not you have been blocked are here to stay. Knowing one of these tactics will assist you in determining whether or not someone wants to speak with you.
