With every type of business operating online, customer satisfaction is a top priority for everyone, so it is essential to improve your website’s overall design and enhance the overall user experience.

Web design is, to a large extent, a creative process, and as such, it is more art than science. However, because it is inherently a medium of presentation, some rules (or at the very least principles) apply.

Anyone should be able to create a visually appealing design and move one step closer to fame by following a few simple pointers. Okay, it’s not that simple, and talent and experience are important, but anyone can make their home page look nicer in a matter of minutes.

Your website may appear user-friendly on a desktop computer, but it may not on a smartphone.
It would be beneficial if you could ensure that your website’s text, images, links, and layout look good on both desktop computers and mobile phones with small screens.
A website that is not mobile-friendly can cause significant harm: you will lose your position on the SERPs, and your bounce rate will rise due to disgruntled users.

2.Improve your website’s typography.

Because it encompasses so many elements, the art of type is a difficult subject to discuss. While it can be considered a branch of design, mastering all of its aspects can take a lifetime. Because this is not the place to provide a comprehensive typographic reference, we will limit our discussion to what will be of immediate benefit to you.

When compared to print typography, web typography suffers. The most significant difference is our lack of complete control over the appearance of type on the Web, which is due to its dynamic nature. Obviously, dynamic rendering has advantages, but for the time being, Web designers have little control over the results. Font stacks

Font stacks are just basic CSS. They let you define the order in which fonts should be rendered.

                body { font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; }

The property above will apply the “Helvetica Neue” typeface to the body copy. This, however, requires that the typeface be installed on the user’s computer. Helvetica (Neue) is now pre-installed on Macs, but not on most Windows machines.

The beauty of font stacks is that they allow you to define “fallbacks,” which means that if a defined typeface is missing, the browser will simply look for the next one in line. Of course, this means that the design will not be exactly the same for everyone, and as a result, we will lose some control once more.

Measure and Leading

The length of lines is measured, and the height (or vertical spacing) of lines is led. Measurement in CSS can be controlled by defining a width for the containing box (e.g. the paragraph element). Readability is influenced by both. Users will be uncomfortable reading the content if the lines are too short or too long; this is a common issue with fluid layouts. A character count of 40 to 80 per line appears to be ideal.

3.Better page speed

After you’ve made your site mobile-friendly, the next step is to ensure that your site’s pages don’t take too long to load. According to Google, to prevent visitors from leaving your site, your site’s pages should not take more than 2-3 seconds to load.

  • Remove unnecessary plugins.
  • Choose the right hosting platform.
  • Use a content delivery network (CDN).

4.Add social share and follow buttons

You can increase the number of visitors to your page by adding social media buttons to the top or bottom of your cornerstone page. These enable users to share their favorite content on various social media platforms, thereby increasing the popularity and traffic to your website.

5.Compartmentalize your design by using grids.

Grids are closely related to the concept of balance. Grids are a set of horizontal and vertical rulers that aid in the “compartmentalization” of a design. Consider columns. Columns improve readability by making the content of a page easier to absorb. The use of space and the Rule of Thirds (or a similar Golden Ratio) make everything easier on the eye.

The Rule of Thirds and the Golden Ratio explain why sidebars, for example, are typically one-third the width of the page and why the main content area is roughly equal to the width of the design divided by 1.62. (equalling phi in mathematics). We won’t go into why this is the case, but it appears to be true in practice. It is also why, in professionally taken photographs, the subject is usually placed at the intersection of an imaginary nine-square grid rather than in the center (three by three, with two horizontal and two vertical lines).

6. Choose the right images

Try to put authentic images on your website and remove the irrelevant and poor-quality photos. Your pictures and text should relate to each other so that users can clearly understand what you are trying to convey.
